BJP candidate of Arunachal West Constituency and  outgoing Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju bagged a massive victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls by winning the seat with a record number of votes.

Rijiju got a total of 204553 votes while his biggest rival Nabam Tuki of Congress got only 47954 votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Rijiju who bagged the Arunachal West seat by getting 156599 votes more than Tuki was overwhelmed with the support of the people of Arunachal Pradesh for the BJP party.

He tweeted, “The highest ever record margin of my win in Arunachal Pradesh is overwhelming! I’m touched by such love & blessings by the people of Arunachal Pradesh I thank hon’ble PM Narendra Modi ji for the visionary guidance who galvanized the mood & hope of the people.”

Congratulatory messages started pouring in for the BJP leader for his massive victory.

Rijiju further tweeted, “Thank you Amit Shah ji for having faith in me & constantly encouraging party Karyakartas. I thank our young CM Pema Khandu ji who has generated a new dynamism to make Arunachal Pradesh prosperous. I shall remain indebted to Karyakartas who worked 24 hours & well wishers.”

BJP leader Kiren Rijiju won the Arunachal West Lok Sabha seat in 2014 parliamentary elections defeating his rival candidate from the Indian National Congress, Takam Sanjoy by a margin of 43,738 votes.
