Red Horns Division of Indian Army flagged off a 650 km Trans Assam Cycling Expedition Tour from 6-15 Jan for 20 youths from far flung areas of Nalbari and Baksa districts of lower Assam.
The aim of the tour is to create awareness among the students about unity, diversity and secular fabric of our nation and also expose them to the socio-economic changes and technological advancements in the region.
The expedition also aims to better Army civil relation in the area. The tour was flagged on January 6 from Rangiya. During the 10 days of the expedition, the team will visit Guwahati, Nagaon, Kaziranga, Numaligarh, Sivasagar, Duliajan and Sadiya.
The youths will get an opportunity to get insight into the rich ethnic culture but will also imbibe team spirit and cohesiveness together. The initiative of the Indian Army will go a long way in meeting the aspirations of the youth and make them the pillar of the nation and spread awareness about saving our environment and planet.
