Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday has assured a CBI probe into the murder of journalist Sudip Dattta Bhowmik within a week if BJP comes to power.
He was addressing election rally in the BT College ground, close to the deceased journalist’s house, in favour of BJP-IPFT candidate Sudip Roy Barman contesting from the Agartala constituency. Sudip Roy Barman has been elected four times from this constituency.
To woo the government employees the Home Minister declared BJP would implement the 7th Pay Commission once it comes to power.
He said the Manik Sarkar government is depriving the employees by continuing with the 4th Pay Commission.
He alleged Tripura’s law and order under Manik Sarkar has worsened. According to the union home minister the low conviction rate of crime in Tripura is due to the involvement of Left Front cadre in most of the incidents.
Rajnath Singh also raised the issue of non-banking financial institutes which have duped more than Rs 40,000 crores of the people of Tripura. He alleged the state government has not recommended for a CBI probe into this.
Singh claimed it is the BJP government under Atal Bihari Vajpayee that in the real sense thought for the development of the region by forming a separate DoNER ministry for the development of the Northeast. Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also giving top priority to the region which can be well understood from the initiatives like linking all the state capitals and improving infrastructure, connectivity and business with the neighbouring nations.
According to the union Minister BJP is the only party which has shown how a nation should be governed and due to this ‘today India can claim for being the fastest growing nation’.
He said India has improved its relations with its immediate neighbours and taught a lesson to those who tried to disturb its peace and harmony.
Singh said, “Our relation with Bangladesh is all time best and due to which we could curb insurgency in Tripura. The people of Tripura are benefitted again as we have started a direct bus link between Agartala to Kolkata via Dhaka, moreover, we are starting a rail connectivity through Bangladesh which is part of the Trans-Asia rail link.”
The Union Minister viewed while the relation is best with the neighbouring countries of eastern region, in the western frontier India has taught a lesson to Pakistan which has tried to destabilize peace and harmony in Kashmir.
Singh said, “I have given standing instruction to the BSF Chief that if Pakistan fires one bullet India’s reply should be through continuous firing but in no situation the first bullet should be from the Indian side.”
