Imphal: The Raj Bhavan, Imphal, and Manipur High Court have reportedly agreed to take up a joint initiative to supplement the relief efforts and materials for the internally displaced persons taking shelter at different relief camps because of the conflict between two communities in this strife state.
The Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey, and the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court, Justice Siddharth Mridul met and discussed the prevailing impasse between the communities and measures to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
A Raj Bhavan communique issued on Monday states that Chief Justice of Manipur High Court, Justice Siddharth Mridul along with Justice A. Bimol Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur, and Justice A. Guneshwar Sharma, Judge, High Court of Manipur called on Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Monday.
They also discussed the ongoing impasse between the two communities and measures to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur.
Initiatives taken up by the Raj Bhavan and High Court of Manipur to supplement the relief efforts were also discussed.
The visiting team also handed over an invitation for the 11th Anniversary of the High Court of Manipur to be held on 23rd March at the City Convention Centre, Imphal.
It is the first time the Governor of Manipur will be gracing the occasion.
Notably, a delegation led by Chief Justice of Manipur High Court Siddharth Mridul visited the relief camps at Kangpokpi and Kakching districts and distributed relief materials to the displaced persons in February 2024.
