The poll strategy of the MPCC has been prepared under the stewardship of State Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh.

The meeting had stressed the importance of inviting AICC president Rahul Gandhi to both Shillong and the Garo Hills for campaigning.

Meanwhile, the BJP is also finalizing the blueprint for the much-hyped visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had earlier garnered a huge mass gathering during a party rally at the Polo Ground in Shillong during mid-December last year.

BJP national president Amit Shah also held a mammoth rally in Tikrikilla of Garo Hills late December last year that too witnessed huge footfalls.

State BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh had apprised the media in Shillong that a proposed itinerary of Modi visit to the State for poll campaign in all the three regions of Khasi Hills, Garo Hills and Jaintia Hills have been sent to the party central leadership in New Delhi. However, acceptance and formal approval from the BJP central leadership is awaited, he added.

The State BJP president further said the national president of the party, Amit Shah will also visit the state again for campaigning in the coming days.
