A man in the Pimpri-Chinchwad region of Pune raised eyebrows after pictures of him wearing a gold mask goes viral over social media.
News agency ANI shared multiple pictures of the man on Twitter and since then his gold mask became a thing of interest among netizens.
The man Shankar Kurade said that said he had spent Rs 2.89 lakhs to get his gold mask made.
He also said that his mask is very thin and has minute holes in it due to which he does not suffer from any breathing difficulties while wearing it.
However, Kurade is doubtful about the effectiveness of the mask in protecting him from the novel coronavirus.
With new fashion styles becoming the talk of the town every time it catches the fancy of people, Kurade’s gold mask was also no exception and a number of netizens started commenting about it once the pictures have gone viral.
“Money can buy you anything except common sense,” one user commented.
“For that worth, he could have donated so many cotton washable layered masks,” another commented.
Although masks becoming an essential commodity during the coronavirus pandemic, some people have also unleashed their creative side by donning self-made colourful masks thereby making a fashion statement with the piece of cloth that has now turn out to be a sort of saviour for all.
