A large number of people from all walks of life including students took out candlelight marches in different parts of Arunachal Pradesh to pay tributes to the 44 CRPF jawans killed in Pulwama attack in Jammu & Kashmir.

At Pasighat, the district headquarters of East Siang district of Arunachal, over two hundred students of the Independent Golden Jubilee Government Higher Secondary School and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pasighat joined the candlelight march on Saturday evening.

The participants of the candlelight march shouted slogans like ‘Veer jawan amar rahe’ and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of the Pulwama attack victims including CRPF jawan Maneshwar Basumatary from Assam’s Baksa district.

In Itanagar, students of JNK public school paid tributes to the brave soldiers who had lost their lives in the service of the nation, says a media report.

A candlelight march was also taken out at Jairampur in Changlang district of the state by the local administration, led by additional deputy commissioner SS Choudhury.

Nampong MLA Laisam Simai also joined the march.

Simai expressed condolences to the aggrieved families of the CRPF jawans, who died in the terror attack on Thursday.

According to the report, over 600 people, including police and CRPF jawans, participated in a candlelight march at Rowing in Lower Dibang Valley.

The march was taken our from Old Roing gate to Kera-aa jubilee ground to offer tributes to the martyred jawans.

During the procession, which was organised by the All Idu Mishmi Students’ Union, the participants shouted slogans against terrorism and burnt posters of the suicide bomber, Adil Ahmed Dar.

It has also been reported that civil society organisations on Friday burnt a Pakistani flag at Itanagar as a mark of protest against the terror attack at Pulwama.

The protestors gathered on NH-415, shouted slogans against Pakistan and burnt the Pakistani flag.

They also reportedly prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and took out a candlelight procession.
