President Ram Nath Kovind met students and teachers from Mon district of Nagaland on Thursday.

The President’s Secretariat in its official Twitter account of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday stated: “President Kovind meets students and teachers from Mon, Nagaland, who are on a National Integration Tour organised by Eastern Command of the Indian Army, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”

It may be mentioned that the newly-appointed Governor of Sikkim, Ganga Prasad Chaurasia recently called on President Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi and had invited him to visit the northeastern State of Sikkim.

President Kovind reportedly showed great interest in knowing Sikkim in the month of November.

As per report, President Kovind conveyed his best wishes to the people of Sikkim on Wednesday during a meeting with Governor Chaurasia.

The Sikkim Governor during the meeting had apprised the President on various issues of the State and also highlighted the uniqueness and achievements of the Sikkim.

As per a report published by The Indian Express on July 26, 2018, President Ram Nath Kovind, who completed a year in office on July 25, 2018, made more than 50 domestic visits in 52 weeks, covering 27 of 29 states, and including visits to 12 states in a single month in November 2017.

In first year, President Kovind made visits to 6 northeastern States including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura — a record for any President, Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
