Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday formally launched Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) at Mayang Imphal under Imphal West district.
Manipur Ministers Th Biswajit Singh (Works), Karam Shyam (Consumers Affairs Food & Public Distribution), V Hangkhanlian (Agriculture), Deputy Speaker K Robindro Singh, MLAs H Dingo, Asab Uddin, Th Satyabrata, Chief Secretary Dr Suresh Babau, DGP Manipur LM Khaute and other top civil and police officials attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said Mobile Diagnostics Service (MDS) would be launched in the state on February 27 so that people can avail around 76 medical tests at their doorsteps.
There are 76 Public Health Centres (PHC) in the state and each PHC areas would be getting such MDS.
In the first phase, 10 MDS each would be launched in hill and valley districts and people don’t need to go to hospitals for medical tests.
The test results/ reports would be given instantly, he said.
He said that the Prime Minister’s Office has recommended the proposal amounting to around Rs 2600 crores for setting up of water supply schemes in the state.
The New Development Bank under BRICS would be sanctioning the amount for the construction of such programmes.
Around 2200 houses would be constructed in the Lilong AC under PMAY, said the CM.
A women’s market is being constructed at an estimated cost of around 4 crores, he added.
N Biren said around 10,500 farmers out of country’s 14 crore farmers would be benefited under the PM-KISAN scheme. Each farmer would be getting Rs 6000 per year.
In his speech, Works Minister Biswajit said that it is the commitment of the present government to abolish the social inequality in the State.
Chief Minister also distributed CHMT and PMJAY cards to around 1900 people, LPG gas connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to 300 families, PM-KISAN card to around 1436 farmers, labour cards to 30 people, LED bulbs etc.
There are also reports of launching PM-KISAN at other places.
Prior to the day’s event, he also inaugurated new building of PHC, Mayang Imphala and Komlakhong Police Outpost.
Earlier on Sunday morning, N Biren led team also inaugurated Koirengei Bridge which was constructed at a cost of around Rs 13 crore.
