Resentment among BJP MLAs across Assam for not securing ministerial berth in the expanded Sarbananda Sonowal ministry has pushed the State BJP into trouble.

With an agenda to discuss the dissatisfaction of party MLAs along with strategies for upcoming Panchayat elections and 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Assam, the State BJP will hold its first Executive Committee meeting after the ministry expansion in Nalbari in May.

Dissatisfied senior BJP leaders Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan, Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika, Dispur MLA Atul Bora, Hawraghat MLA Joyram Engleng, Baithalangso MLA Mansing Rongpi, Sonai MLA Aminul Haque Laskar, Morigaon MLA Rama Kanta Dewri, Dhemaji MLA Ranoj Pegu and some other BJP MLAs have expressed their anguish over not getting any ministerial berth.

As per media reports, the MLAs also claimed before the State BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Dass about not releasing funds for the development of their constituencies.

Though the Assam Finance Minister allocated an amount of Rs 22 crore against each legislative constituency for development, the MLAs claimed that they have not received any such funds, stated in a media report.

Senior BJP MLA Atul Bora alleged that some officials demand bribe for releasing the funds allocated for the development of legislative constituencies.

Except the ministers including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami, Deputy Speaker Dilip Kumar Paul of the Assam Legislative Assembly and the State BJP President, most of the party MLAs expressed that they have faced fund problem for development of their constituencies, stated media reports.
