Following the series of attack on churches in Sri Lanka in which at least 290 people were killed and over 500 others wounded, the Nagaland chief secretary does not rule out any possibility of such incident in the state.

This has come to light in a letter dashed off by the chief secretary to the state director general of police (DGP), sources said.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland is a Christian-dominated state in the Northeast.

According to sources, the Nagaland chief secretary has alerted the DGP, home commissioner of Nagaland, IG of Assam Rifles (North) and the joint director of SIB in Nagaland in this regard seeking review of the preparedness to thwart occurrence of any such incident.
Eight bombs which exploded at 8:45 am on Easter Sunday tore apart three churches and at least three hotels in and around Colombo, the state capital of Sri Lanka.
Sources said, in a letter, Nagaland chief secretary Temjen Toy has stated that the Director General of Police, Nagaland, should have a thorough review of the preparedness of the state to thwart similar incidents in the state.
Sources further stated that the Nagaland chief secretary, who has also forwarded copies of the letter to the Nagaland home commissioner, IG of Assam Rifles (North) and the joint director of SIB in Nagaland, wants the DGP to prepare an action plan to sensitise the public on the preventive measures.
The Nagaland chief secretary also expressed that the matters should be discussed in a security coordination meeting to be organized shortly.
Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio condemned the attack on Sunday.
Expressing his shock over the incident, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Sunday tweeted: “I am shocked and saddened by news of bombings in hotels and churches in #SriLanka. I condemn this heinous act of mindless violence, targeting innocent people and worshippers attending Easter Sunday service. My thoughts and prayers for all those affected.”
