Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared an inspiring video of a young girl asking her father to stay back wherever he is and not come back home at a time when a 21-day lockdown has been imposed upon the entire country in an effort to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

The video has been created by the Central Government to spread awareness among the people about the importance of staying at a particular place amidst the nationwide lockdown in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.

The 40 second video shows the girl writing a letter to her father as a voiceover narrates what she is writing.

“Dear Papa, I am not missing you at all. Neither is Mother. There is absolutely no need for you to rush back from Mumbai. Stay where you are,” the girl’s voiceover says in Hindi.

“If you step out, then corona will win. We have to defeat corona. Isn’t it, Papa?  Friends, keep a close eye on your parents. Be corona warriors,” she added.

The video has already garnered over 3.5 lakh views and has been widely praised by netizens.

While announcing about the 21-day lockdown on Tuesday, Modi said,” All of you are also witnessing how the most advanced countries of the world have been rendered absolutely helpless by this pandemic. It is not that these countries are not putting in adequate efforts or they lack resources. The coronavirus is spreading at such a rapid pace that despite all the preparations and efforts, these countries are finding it hard to manage the crisis.”

He also said this decision was taken from the experiences of health sector experts and experiences of other countries and that 21 days is essential to break the chain of infection.
