A Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Health and Family Welfare led by its Chairman and Member of Lok Sabha Dr Manoj Rajoria called on Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Brahmaputra State Guest House on Sunday evening and explained the purpose of the committee’s visit to Assam.

The Committee would study the Medical Devices Regulation and Control and National Health Mission in Assam and prepare a report to table it to the House.

The members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee informed the Chief Minister their mandate and the aspects that have formed the parameter of their study.

Chief Minister Sonowal while according warm welcome to the committee members apprised them of various initiatives that government of Assam has been taking to overhaul the growth of the state.

The other members of the committee included K Somaprasad, Dr K Kamraj, JJT Natterjee, Thangso Baite.
