Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited  (ONGC) authority has assured the Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb that the ONGC Board would positively process the proposal for CSR funding of Rs 81 crore for construction of defunct toilets in the State.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb held a discussion with the Chief Managing Director (CMD) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Shashi Shanker in the presence of Chief Secretary, Sanjeev Ranjan on Monday.

The CMD, ONGC briefed the Tripura Chief Minister that after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Tripura, the exploration activity has been actually doubled in the State, wherein the number of rigs, which are working in the field, have been increased to 6 from an earlier number of 3 rigs.

“The Chief Minister of Tripura agreed to visit the ONGC plant in the last week of September so as to encourage the entire ONGC workforce, for further increasing their participation in the development of the State,” stated a press communique.

The CMD, ONGC expressed his commitment to partner the State efforts to declare the State Open Defecation (ODF) by December 31, 2018 and assured that the board would positively process the proposal for CSR funding of Rs 81 crore for construction of defunct toilets in the State, in its Board meeting scheduled to be held on September 18, 2018, the press communique added.
