One person was killed and two others seriously injured in a major road accident that took place at Saderi along National Highway 127 – Bhutan road of Barpeta district in Assam on Thursday.
A speeding bike knocked down a bicycle from behind, that left one dead on the spot and two others injured.

The deceased has been identified as Sahil Alom Sarkar, aged around 17 years of Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon District.
He was travelling by a bike with a friend coming from Bhutan side to Pathsala.
Sahil was pillion riding the bike, a Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS, bearing registration no- AS 14 G 7537.

The cyclists Rahul Pathak and Meghraj Bamset, the rider of the bike were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital at Bajali.
Local people told Northeast Now that several accidents have taken place in that area. They have also requested the drivers to follow certain speed limit while travelling by this road as it was an accident prone area.
Meanwhile, the victim’s body has been sent to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital in Barpeta for post mortem.
