Scheduled international commercial international flights to and from India will remain suspended till January 31, 2022.
This was informed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in a circular on Thursday.
The DGCA has extended the ban on commercial international passenger flights owing to the rising concerns over spread of Omicron variant of COVID-19.

The DGCA decided not to resume scheduled international flights from December 15.

“The competent authority has decided to extend the suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger services to and from India till 2359 hours of January 31, 2022,” the DGCA stated in its circular.

Scheduled international passenger services have remained suspended in India since March 23, 2020 following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
However, special international flights have been operating under the Vande Bharat Mission and “air bubble” arrangements with selected countries.
India has “air bubble” deals with around 32 countries across the globe.
