The NSCN (IM) in a rebuttal has clarified that the news item, “NSCN (IM) bans Star Cement in Nagaland”, carried on Wednesday is not based on fact.
In a rebuttal the NSCN (IM) said the news was, ‘highly irritable and inflammable too.’
‘The GPRN is constrained to ask for corrigendum from these news centers and other news agencies (if any more) that have published the news item, following the issuance of this rebuttal of the GPRN, so as to avoid ramification and unwelcomed consequences therewith,’ a statement issued by ‘Ministry of Information and Publicity’ of Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim said.
In fact, it was the ‘Kilonser, Ministry of Chaplee Affairs’ of ‘Government of the People’s Republic of Nagaland’ not Nagalim that issued the notice banning Star Cement in Nagaland.
The inadvertent error occurred because the symbols used by two groups look almost similar.
“In exercise of power, hereby notified all the concerned distributors and suppliers of Star Cement to stop procurement and distribution ofStar Cementin the state of Nagaland,” the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagaland said in a statement.
The outfit has appealed to distributors and suppliers to cooperate with them and not provide any short of logistic to Star Cement.
“All the concerned distributors and suppliers are hereby directed to co-operate and prevent any form of logistics of Star Cement in the state of Nagaland as well as those directed to Nagaland,” the statement added.
The outfit further said that the cement giant has been banned due to unavoidable circumstances that arose between the management of Star Cement and the ‘Government’ (outfit).
