Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) on Tuesday presented a cheque of Rs 99.90 crore to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal as the second interim dividend against the equity holding of 12.35 perc ent held by the State government in the company.
The cheque was handed over by the Managing Director of NRL, SK Baruah at the Assam Chief Minister’s office in Janata Bhawan, Dispur, stated a government press communique.

With this payment, the Assam Government has received a total of Rs 145.31 crore from the NRL as interim dividend for the financial year 2017-18.
The interim dividend has been worked out on the basis of performance of the Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) company during the first nine months of the current financial year 2017-18, it stated.
The Assam Chief Minister said that this amount received from the NRL reflects the robust performance of the company and the company is setting a good example in contributing to the state’s economy.

Chief Minister Sonowal also hoped that the NRL would continue to perform well through the dedication and hard-work of its employees in the coming days as well, the press communique further added.
