The process of intra and inter revenue circle level Family Tree Verification (FTV) type two for updating NRC began in Darrang district from Thursday. The second phase of FTV process covering one or two revenue circles depending on its geographical position started in 42 venues across the district. NRC district nodal officer Bidyut Bikash Bhagawati informed Northeast Now.

Of these venues, Dalgaon revenue circle recorded highest FTV of 28 numbers, followed by Mangaldai 8 and Sipajhar 4. Pathorighat Revenue Circle recorded the lowest FTV.

“More than five hundred officials and staffs including 94 investigating officers have been engaged for this process where altogether 16,258 proceedings related to Legacy Data Code (LDC) will be investigated,” Bhagawati told Northeast Now.

The intra and inter NSK level type one Family Tree Verification process in the district began on February 17 last. Similar LDC cases figuring a total of 8,874 were included in type one process.

Meanwhile of the 28,212 proceedings, the process of FTV for the remaining 3,080 intra district and inter district level cases are going to be investigated in phase three. Besides these proceedings to investigate the cases related to Panchayat level legacy certificates, the NRC authority has appointed Special Investigation Officer, the source added.
