Arunachal Pradesh National People’s Party (NPP) vice president and spokesperson Nima Sange Saling on Sunday said though there were several prospective candidates for various Assembly seats but only 29 candidates were finalised in the first list while four names were finalised on Friday.

NPP leader Saling said that several heavy weight and senior political leaders of the State, who resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and others including ministers and MLAs, have been given party tickets.

He also said many of the party candidates have already filed their nomination papers and the rest of the candidates will file nomination papers on Monday.

Salin stated that the party has released the final list of Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K. Sangma-led NPP candidates on Thursday.

The final list has four names.

The party candidates, who have been given party tickets to contest the ensuing Arunachal Pradesh Assembly polls, include Nabam Vivek from 14 Doimukh, Tainam Jammes Jugli from 51 Nampong, Kipa Kanye from 19 Nyapin and Techi Tolu Tara from 13 Itanagar Assembly constituency.

He informed that a few candidates have filed their nomination and hoped that all the other candidates would file their nomination papers on Monday, which is the last day of filing nomination papers for the first phase of polls.

The prospective candidates, who were given party tickets in the first list, include sitting MLA Mutchu Milli from 43 Roing Assembly constituency, sitting MLA and minister Kumar Waii from 8 Bameng, sitting MIA Nikh Kamin from 48 Bordumsa-Dayum, Nikh Khopi from 48 Lekang and sitting MLA Tirang Aboh from Khonsa West.

The list also includes Tony Pertin from Dambuk, retired IAS officer Tahang Taggu from 32 Rumgong, Danhang Phuksa from 55 Khonsa West, Tsering Gyurne from 4 Dirang, Pampa Thinley Kunkhap from 1 Lumla, sitting MLA Pani Taram from 21 Koloriang, sitting MLA Tapuk Taku from 10 Seppa East, Jarpum Gamlin from 27 Lirmoba, Shoney Perlin from 39 Mebo, Karto Kaye from 36 Nari-Koyu, Gokar Basar from 29 Basar, Tarh Hari from 15 Sagalee, retired IAS officer Tarin Dakpe from 25 Raga, Rudham Sindhu from 23 Taliha,  Aju Khonjuju from 7 Bomdila, sitting MLA Thangwang Wangham from 59 Longding-Pumao, minister and sitting MIA Jarkar Gamlin from 31 Aalo East, Porchu Tamin from 24 Daporijo, Tori Ragyor from 33 Mechuka, Malin Angara from 47 Namsai, Iken Tao from 28 Likabali, Khawang Rangsu from 57 Bordumsa-Bogapani Assembly constituency and Twang Lowang from 54 Namsang.
