Northeast: Mobile tariffs hiked

India’s three leading private telecom service Airtel, Jio and Vodafone have all increased tariff hikes which will come into effect from Tuesday.

The increase in the prepaid plans of the three private telecom service providers is likely to affect a number of people in the country who relies on its services.

Airtel’s new recharge plans are priced upwards of Rs 19 and go all the way up to Rs 2398, depending on the validity period and the benefits.

The telecom’s pre-paid plans which had earlier cost Rs 249 (28 days validity) and Rs 448 (82 days validity), will now cost Rs 298 and Rs 598 (84 days validity) respectively.

Moreover, Vodafone Idea, too, has also announced new plans for prepaid product and services with 2 days, 28 days, 84 days, 365 days validity.

Although Jio had not revealed any details of its new plans yet, it ensured that the new plans will not affect customers or the company and will be beneficial for both.

Despite the price hikes, business analysts are of the opinion that the move will greatly benefit the telecom industry of the country.
