On the occasion of Christmas, the Chief Ministers of the Northeast and Governors have extended Christmas greetings to all.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has extended his warm wishes and festive greetings to everyone in Assam and outside on the occasion of Christmas.

In a statement issued on Monday, Chief Minister Sonowal said, “Merry Christmas to everyone across the country. May this occasion increase the spirit of universal brotherhood, compassion, harmony, and peace.”

He also said, “Christmas is an occasion to rededicate ourselves to strengthen the unity and promote harmony and take the state to newer heights of progress and prosperity.”

Chief Minister Sonowal also urged upon the people to follow the principle and teachings of Lord Jesus Christ to strengthen the message of friendship and brotherhood.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has also extended Christmas greetings.

In his Christmas message, Rio stated: “May the message of Christmas which is love, peace, joy, forgiveness and redemption foster bonds of love and friendship with one another. Merry Christmas.”

On the occasion of Christmas, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has also extended warm greetings to all.

On his Twitter handle on Monday, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma stated:  “On the joyous occasion of Christmas, let us spread the message of joy, peace and love.”

In his Christmas message, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma stated: “On the joyous occasion of Christmas, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the State.” In his message, the Meghalaya CM also said: “As we gather with our friends and families to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, let us imbibe the spirit of love, hope, peace, compassion and forgiveness.”

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has also extended Christmas greetings to all.

In his Christmass message, Khandu stated: “Christmas is a time to get in touch with your closed ones, sharing gifts and spreading love and peace. It is time to open your heart and to feel the blessings showered from the heaven. Wish you all a happy Christmas!”

Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla has also extended Christmas greetings to all.

In her Christmas message, Governor Heptulla stated: “Christmas is here again and I extend my greetings to the people of Manipur, especially to our Christian brethren on the auspicious occasion of Christmas, 2018.”

On her Twitter handle on Monday, she also stated: “Lord Jesus, the messenger of God and an apostle of peace and non-violence, showed humanity the path to salvation through love, compassion, mercy and forgiveness. He had boundless love for all mankind and advocated abdication of material elements.”

She further tweeted: “His teachings transcend all barriers and His everlasting message of peaceful co-existence holds true for all. Let us all celebrate the birth of this apostle of peace while re-dedicating ourselves to the spiritual and ethical path propounded by Him,” adding, “And live in harmony and brotherhood by following His values. My best wishes once again to all the people of Manipur on this sacred and auspicious day when the Lord was born.”
