India won the champion’s title at the India-Bhutan Friendship Archery Championship. India won seven medals in total, including five gold.
The championship was held in Thimphu on Saturday and Sunday.
Rupam Devi bagged the first gold in the women’s individual compound event while Th. Sanai Devi won gold in the women’s individual recurve.
The women’s recurve team of Th. Sani from Manipur, Kevikeino Rikha from Nagaland and Jashna Brahma of Assam won the gold while the all-Manipur team of M. Rupam Devi, Suchitra Tourangbam and L. Dulina Devi won gold in the women’s compound team event.
The fifth gold was won by the men’s recurve team of Henthoiba L. from Arunachal Pradesh, Kilenmiran of Nagaland and Production Borgayang of Assam, reports the Telegraph.
Henthoiba also won a silver in the men’s individual recurve while Welson Takhellambam bagged the bronze in the men’s individual compound event.
India and Bhutan are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations by hosting a series of programmes, including sporting events.
