Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kr Deb, the first BJP CM in the state, where left was in power for last 25 years, said that there is no trouble with Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), the ally of the saffron party.
“There is no trouble with our allies and I have spoken to them. We have two IPFT ministers in our Cabinet which will be further expanded. Their ministers hold important portfolios like finance. They are our allies and are totally satisfied,” Deb told The Times of India in an interview in New Delhi.
The IPFT recently launched massive protest in Delhi demanding a separate Twipraland.
Deb, however, claimed that IPFT had no formal demand for Twipraland and only a small section of IPFT had gathered in New Delhi.
He said that the Tripura government has got Rs 1,000 crore from the Central government.
“I have met 15 ministers in two days and have got Rs 1,000 crore for the state already in the two days. I am hopeful of taking care of the seven lakh unemployed within two and half years,” said the Chief Minister.
