Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday said that no guarantors are required any more for Mudra loans.

Deb said this while chairing a state level bankers’ committee meeting for Tripura was held at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala in Wednesday.

The meeting was attened by state chief secretary U Venkataswarlu and general managers of various banks including the RBI, NABARD were present.

After the meeting the chief minister said that the main issues discuss during the meeting was on how the people of the state can get bank loan through various schemes related to agriculture, horticulture, mudra, education, MSME, etc so that the people of the State can become self-employed.

He said that there has been incidents when bank guarantors were demanded against mudra loans and which is against the rule and a hurdle for the small entrepreneurs to take benefit of the said loan and so during the meeting the issue was given priority and instant direction was given so that no bank branch especially in rural areas ask for guarantors in case of small Mudra loans.

Deb also informed about his recent meetings at New Delhi in the sidelines of the NITI Ayog and during which he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah and other senior ministers and discussed on issues related to development of the state of Tripura.
