Tripura Government is unable to pay the salaries of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers, as it is out of funds. Education Minister of Tripura Tapan Chakraborty, has written to the HRD Ministry stating that the State Government is out of funds to pay the salaries of teachers under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
The letter said the expenditure would have to be shifted to the state funds “to the tune of teacher vacancies in the state” indicating that SSA teacher’s salary wouldn’t be funded by the Centre if there were vacancies in sanctioned teaching posts under the state government.
