The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday said that it has increased the average speed of 25 trains and reduced the stoppage time of 122 trains at different stations.
These steps have been taken to boost the mobility of trains and enhance operational efficiency.

The running time of the 25 trains has been reduced by an average of 23 minutes.
Among the trains whose stoppage time at different stations has been reduced, 33 trains are at Guwahati, 16 at Rangiya, 71 at New Jalpaiguri and 2 trains at Katihar.
The NFR also has plans of reducing the running time of 10 more trains by an average of 24 minutes each in the coming months.

It is also planning to recruit more number of loco-pilots or train drivers in order to enhance its services.
For boosting railway infrastructure, NFR is renovating a number of railway stations and are also constructing double railway lines.
