The NF Railway Pensioners Association observed 35th Pensioners Day here recently.
M Panging, vice president of the association presided over the meeting held on the occasion at Maligaon here.
Santosh Bhattacharjee, secretary of Pandu Branch of the association in his speech said about the decisions taken in the last CEC meeting held at Mariani on October 29 last.
A M Roy, chief advisor of NFRPA, who initiated the discussion in his speech highlighted the significance of the day and stressed on the importance of the pensioners solidarity.
He expressed his resentment over the abnormal delay in issuing the revised PPO of 7th CPC.
He was very much critical on the ongoing attack on the people in the name of religion, caste and condemned the attack on democratic rights of the people by the miscreants.
Pradip Kumar Chakraboty, working president of the association, discussed on the history of pension system in India and the Historical verdict of Supreme Court delivered in the year 1982.
SM Kanjilal spoke on the various issues of the pensioners especially the problems faced by the organization at administrative level in settling the grant of family pension to unmarried, widow and divorced woman.
