With the nation-wide COVID-19 lockdown expected to be extended further, IITs, NITs have decided to start the new academic session in September.
Though the institutes have not prepared their academic calendars for the upcoming semester, the session will be delayed and is expected to begin in September.
Meanwhile, students aspiring to get admission into premier technical institutes are facing an uncertain future as the JEE Main and JEE Advanced have been rescheduled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The examinations were earlier scheduled to be conducted in April and May but have been deferred due to the country-wide lockdown.
The challenges might increase once the seat allocation and counselling process start after the compiled lists of ranks are released.
Those who appeared for JEE Main in January 2019 will also wait for the final ranks for admissions.
