The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi) has bagged two prestigious awards from the ‘Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP).

The agency got one award for financial inclusion of its project–‘NEDFi Micro Finance Scheme’ and other for its water hyacinth project —‘Weed to Wealth’.

NEDFi is a Public Limited Company which provides financial assistance to micro, small, medium and large enterprises for setting up industrial, infrastructure and agri-allied projects in the Northeast.

The corporation also offers consultancy and advisory services to the state governments, private sectors and other agencies.

The award function was held in Manila, Philippines during the virtual annual general meeting of the ADFIAP on October 29 which was attended by members of the development financial institutions from Asia-Pacific region.

Established on October 1, 1976, under the auspices of the Asian Development Bank, ADFIAP is the focal point of all development banks and other financial institutions engaged in the financing of development in the Asia-Pacific region.

Its mission is to advance sustainable development through its members.

Presently, ADFIAP has 103 members from 39 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
