Barely a day after the killing of a National Democratic Front of Boroland (Songbijit) militant in Kokrajhar, another NDFB (S) rebel was arrested by a joint police and Army team on Friday at Dum Bazar-Rangapara area in Kokrajhar district.
The rebel was injured in an encounter with security forces on Wednesday night but manged to give a slip to the Army and police team.

The encounter took place at about 8 pm between NDFB (S) cadres and security forces at Doom Bazar area in Kokrajhar district along Indo-Bhutan border on Wednesday.
The injured rebel, who managed to escape from the spot that day, landed in Army and police net on Friday, a top police official told NE Now. He has been identified as Matias Narzary alias N Mauti. A 9 mm pistol was found on him.
Police rushed him to RNB hospital in Gossaigaon in a critical condition and subsequently he was shifted to Kokrajhar for advanced treatment.
