Three NDFB militants belonging to Ranjan Daimary faction and an overground cadre of NDFB Sangbijit faction were apprehended on Wednesday by a joint team of Army and Udalguri police.
The militants landed in the security net during a routine check. The combined team of army and police established a mobile check post after getting specific information about the movement of the militants. The militants have been identified as Gwswm, Gwmsar Diamary, Pramod Daimary and Anjalu Kachari.

During the search operation one factory made pistol of 7.65 mm along with two live rounds of cartridges, one M-20 (7.62mm) factory made pistol with three live rounds of cartridges and eleven mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
Following inputs from the apprehended militants the army and police also recovered two hand grenades (No 36) and three live rounds of cartridges of 7.65 mm pistol from the residence of Gwswm and Gwmsar respectively. Udalguri police have booked three cadre of NDFB (RD) and one over ground worker of NDFB (S). Four suspected individuals apprehended by the army and police were released after due warning of not to support such miscreants. The apprehended militants were involved in various criminal and illegal activities in the area.
