Natural gas has been discovered in Laban Chara of Tulashikar block under Khowai District of Tripura.
A local villager who went to the outskirts of the village to collect some firewood on Friday saw bubbles coming out of water beneath the rocks. He immediately informed the villagers who then informed the local authorities.

A team of Government officials including the District Magistrate Sandeep Mahatme and ONGC officials visited the spot on Saturday and after several hours of inspection has confirmed the news.
“Yes, Natural gas has been found from here which is indeed a great news for the whole state and also for North East India”. informed DM Sandeep Mahatme.
