The Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Namrup celebrated its foundation day in the Namrup Sahitya Sabha Auditorium on Saturday.

The celebration started with the performance of the theme song of Asam Sahitya Sabha ‘Chira Senehi Mor Bhasha Janani’ by a number of artistes from Namrup and after that a Borgeet was performed by Smrity Rekha Kalita.

The foundation day celebration programme of the Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Namrup, was presided over by Arati Devi Sarmah, President of the Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Namrup.

The celebration programme was attended by Dr Bharati Dutta, District President of the Lekhika Samaroh, as the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dutta said, “We are a huge organization with large number of members across Assam.  Lekhika Samaroh is such a organization where the women get a platform for exposure of their talent.”

During the programme, a wall magazine was also inaugurated by Rupali Mahanta Patgiri, Lekhika Samaruh working president.

Bibi Mahanta was presented with the title ‘Tejashwini’ at the function.

Dignitaries present at the celebration included Dr Bharati Dutta, President, Dibrugarh District Lekhika Samaroh; Smrity Dutta Bora, Principal, BEd College; Renu Phukan, District Secretary, Lekhika Samaroh, Dibrugarh and Neetu Sonowal Buragohain, Chairman of Namrup Town Committee.
