Survival Nagaland has sought clarification from NSCN- IM on the contribution of non Nagas in the Naga Nationalist Movement following the news report where two non Nagas NSCN –IM cadres namely Kabir Ahmed alias Raja Peyu and Nazmul Islam were arrested by the Dimapur Police for Tax Collection.
According the news report on November 21, the two non Naga NSCN-IM cadres were arrested by Dimapur police for tax collection. Police also seized one .32 pistol, 5 live rounds, 2580 Spasmo Proxivon capsules and duplicate receipt books from their possession.
The pressure group expressed surprise over the recruitment of non Nagas in the NSCN-IM and sought clarification about the criteria for such recruitment. In a press communiqué Survival Nagaland stated that Nagas should give up fight for sovereign nation should people of doubtful origin or non-Nagas are recruited in the national interest. The pressure group, which was formed to address the issue of “unchecked” and “unmonitored” influx of illegal immigrants in Nagaland, sought timely clarification from the ‘esteemed authority’ of NSCN-IM.
