Opposition Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Tuesday claimed that it has not been rejected by the people of Nagaland and that the party undoubtedly enjoys their love and support.

In a statement, the party said it has emerged as the single largest party in the State with 26 MLAs in the house of 60 in the last 2018 Assembly election in Nagaland with 38.8 per cent vote share.

With alliance partners securing more than six per cent, the total percentage of vote share secured by NPF and its alliance was 44.7 per cent, the statement pointed out.

In the Lok Sabha by-election held in May, the NPF secured 41.43 per cent of the total vote share, it added.

Rubbishing BJP national general secretary in-charge of Northeast Ram Madhav’s statement in the BJP state executive meeting at Mokokchung on October 9 last that the NPF has been rejected by the people, the statement said it is based on sheer imagination and does not reflect the ground reality.
