The Mon district administration has imposed night curfew under Section 144 CrPC from 10 pm to 3 am for three months with effect from February 21 till May 21 along areas of Indo-Myanmar border in the 3 km belt under Mon district bordering Myanmar

Mon District Magistrate K Thavaseelan, in a release, on Friday said the order has been issued following the allocation of power to the Mon District Magistrate by the State Government.

Thavaseelan, who is also the DC & DEO of the district, in another notification informed that the poll timing of polling stations (P-2 categories in 48 Moka and 55 Tobu Assembly constituencies) under Mon district has been changed as per the directives of the Election Commission of India received on February 21. The new polling timing will be from 7 am to 3 pm, he said and urged all the candidates and electors to take note of the change in timing.
