GUWAHATI: Tetso Mountaineering Club announced the successful ascent of Mount Pauna, the fourth-highest peak in Nagaland, as part of their latest expedition themed “Rashtravadi Hain Hum – Celebration of Indian Nationalism.”
Led by President Lunkhum Khingru, the expedition marked a historic milestone in the club’s journey. Beyond the physical feat of scaling towering heights, this endeavour embodies a profound dedication to the spirit of Indian nationalism.
Lunkhum Khingru said, “This momentous occasion transcends mere conquest; it is a profound testament to our unwavering commitment to our beloved nation, India. Through every step, every challenge overcome, we reaffirm our allegiance to our nation’s ethos and values.”
The expedition, comprising seasoned members of the Tetso Mountaineering Club, faced formidable challenges along the treacherous slopes of Mount Pauna. Yet, fueled by a collective spirit of patriotism and resilience, they emerged victorious, unfurling the tricolour at the summit as a symbol of their undying love for the country.
Tetso Mountaineering Club extended its gratitude to all supporters and well-wishers whose unwavering encouragement fueled this remarkable journey. This triumph stands as a beacon of inspiration for all, reminding us that with dedication, courage, and unity, we can surmount even the most daunting of obstacles.
Apart from Lunkhum Khingru, the team comprised of Longtsubemo Yanthan, Lunkhum C, Mongko Chollen and Penchang L.
It took almost four hours for the team to reach on the top of the peak from Benreu village in the Peren district of Nagaland.
Located at 2841 metres in height, Mount Pauna is the fourth-highest mountain of the state in the Peren district.
