Tethuyo village of Kiphire district in Nagaland has been declared ‘model village’ recently.

Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his Cabinet colleagues, advisors, Sanjay Kumar Joint Secretary GOI, HoDs, administration, United Sangtam Likhum Pumji and Yimchunger Tribal Council distributed various agricultural tools to the villagers on the occasion.

Tethuyo Village Council in a press release stated that the visit by ‘MoS and state government is historic and will go down in the annals of Tethuyo Village as a red letter day and will remain an inspiration to the citizens of this technology village.’

Rijiju, while addressing the farmers urged the citizens to keep the spirit of unity for better development and assured to extend all help towards the development of the village in days to come.

Rijiju also donated a sum of Rs 10 lakhs to Tethuyo village for development of fisheries project in the village.

A representation was submitted to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for setting up of a tribal museum cum guest house and for setting up of fisheries training institute. Notably, Rio assured the Council to look into the proposal.
