Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil, while inaugurating a village council hall at Dimapur on Thursday, lauded the community contribution of the Nagas.
Patil, who is on a two-day visit to Nagaland from today, inaugurated the Thahekhu Village Council hall-cum- multipurpose building.

He said the village council hall that was inaugurated is the biggest among the six northeastern states he had visited.
“I will speak of the greatness of the Nagas and their community contribution in all the places I visit,” Patil stated.
He said it is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the villages better than the cities, fulfilling the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi.

On the Opposition-less government in Nagaland under the umbrella of the United Democratic Alliance, Patil lauded the legislators for coming together to work for the betterment and development of the state. He also acknowledged the slogan “peace for development and development for peace”.
Nagaland Rural Development Minister Metsubo Jamir and MLAs Tovihoto Ayemi and Azheto Zhimomi were present during the inauguration programme.
Later, Patil interacted with the village functionaries of Thahekhu village before leaving for Kohima.
After his arrival at Dimapur airport, Patil called on Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his residence at Sovima here.
