Nagaland Tourism was awarded the Most Promising New Destination Award 2019 at the Travel and Tourism Fair in Mumbai on Sunday.
The award was presented to Nagaland Tourism deputy director KM Rio and tourist officer Diana Achumi.
The Travel and Tourism Fair is one of the leading tourism fairs which is an annual meeting ground for tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, airlines, state tourism boards and various stakeholders of the travel industry.
It is hosted with an aim to provide visitors with the best kind of holiday packages.
The Travel and Tourism Fair was held at Nehru Centre in Worli area of Mumbai from Friday to Sunday.
Informing about the win of Nagaland Tourism, chief minister Neiphiu Rio stated on his Twitter handle, “Nagaland received “Most Promising New Destination Award 2019” at the @TTFIndia; India’s biggest travel show network. This year, Nagaland exhibited their tourism attractions as the ‘Feature State’ at the tourism fair.
Gujarat, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh were the ‘Partner States’ at the fair.
Apart from these five states, some other Indian states also participated in the fair.
The tourism fair also witnessed the participation of stakeholders from other countries.
