Nagaland’s school education department directed those teachers who have kept proxy teachers in their place of posting to immediately report to their respective schools,
The department also asked to send two photographs of them – one in front of the school and the other teaching inside the classroom – to the mail id [email protected] every working day, unless directed otherwise, from their own email ids registered with the department.
In an order last night, principal director, school education department, Shanavas C. said those who have no email ids or do not know their email ids registered with the department should submit the same to the department through sub divisional education officer or district education officer concerned before sending daily reports.
The order said strict disciplinary action, including suspension/termination of service, would be initiated for failure to comply with the directive.
It said 438 teachers from different districts of the state as listed in the department’s website education.nagaland.gov.in had been found keeping proxy teachers in their place of posting during the verification drive carried out by the directorate of school education in October and November 2019.
“This is unbecoming of a government servant and violation of Rule 4 of The Nagaland Government Servant Conduct Rules, 1968,” the order said.
