Nagaland reported 77 new Covid cases and two deaths on Sunday. The State also registered 89 recoveries during the day.

According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, among the new cases Dimapur recorded 28, Kiphire 1, Kohima 28, Mokokchung 9, Phek 2, Tuensang 6, Wokha 1 and Zunheboto 2.

Of the 89 recoveries, Dimapur registered 29, Kohima 37, Longleng 2, Mokokchung 9, Phek 5 and Tuensang 7.

Meanwhile, the department, in its weekly bulletin released on Saturday, said the State witnessed an increase of 44 percent new Covid cases from July 31 to August 6 as compared to the previous week.

It said 732 new cases were reported from July 31 to August 6 as compared to 597 positive cases recorded during the previous week.

According to the department, 99 percent of the Covid deaths reported since March this year were those who had not been fully vaccinated while 90 percent deaths were those who had not received even a single dose of the Covid vaccine.
