Dimapur: The Naga Studentsโ Federation (NSF) on Saturday urged the Nagaland Police to act immediately against Reny Wilfred, who faces serious allegations of crimes against women.
In a letter to the Nagaland DGP, NSF demanded that the police book Wilfred without delay and handle the case with the urgency the allegations require.
The federation warned that anyone who tries to shield, influence, or interfere with the investigation will face strong public opposition.
NSF expressed deep concern that law enforcement has delayed action, despite multiple women coming forward with allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct during Wilfredโs tenure at IDAN.
โIt is deeply troubling that victims have spoken out courageously, yet law enforcement has not taken visible steps to bring the accused to justice,โ NSF said.
While the authorities suspended Wilfred, the federation criticized the slow progress in disciplinary proceedings and the criminal process. NSF also noted that although a strong chargesheet reportedly exists, the police have yet to translate it into concrete action.
NSF called on authorities to act swiftly, ensure accountability, and deliver justice for women victims.
