On August 6, the AYO organised a protest rally in Kohima to voice their protest against unabated illegal taxation, harassment, intimidation and death threats to the common people.

The NSCN (Khango) also agreed to retract its directive given to the Angami Naga contractors to cease activities and demobilise their manpower and machinery currently deployed across Nagaland with immediate effect, said a joint statement.

The joint statement was issued by AYO president Kesosul Christopher Ltu and general secretary Neidilhoutuo Sechu and NSCN (Khango) kilo kilonser (home minister) Visheto Yeptho and CFSB supervisor A Imyapangba Ao said after the meeting.

It was also resolved that the outfit will make known to the public the real identity of the person, called “Max Naga”, responsible for issuing the death threat and initiate appropriate disciplinary action against him on or before 15 days with effect from August 20.

Accordingly, it was decided that the AYO would withdraw its non-cooperation and recalling of Angami Naga workers from the NSCN (Khango).

The outfit expressed regret over the occurrence of the “unfortunate” issue.

At the meeting, the NSCN (Khango) also reiterated its stand on the Angami Public Organisation resolution of 1993 on “one government, one tax”.
