Nagaland: Law and order in Dimapur ‘under control’, says police commissioner

Law and order situation in Dimapur, the commercial hub of Nagaland, is “under control”.

This was stated by Dimapur police commissioner Rotihu Tetseo.

He said the the law and order situation in Dimapur in the last 12 months has been ‘peaceful’.

Tetseo added that Dimapur Police has been focusing primarily on illegal tax collection and extortion activities.

However, the Dimapur police added that extortion related incidents are still prevalent in the city with 98 cases being registered and 138 arrests being made in the last 12 months.

Armed deployment will continue is strategic locations in the city to thwart any attempt of illegal tax collection or extortion, Dimapur police informed.
