The Nagaland government on Thursday released a new version of self-declaration Nagaland Covid-19 App, which can be downloaded from hhps:/nagahealth.nagaland.gov.in

The government asked the health officials to ensure that the self-declaration Covid-19 Nagaland App is downloaded in any individual’s mobile phone before putting him/her on home quarantine and completion of the registration process.

All persons who are put under home quarantine will download the self-declaration app in his/her mobile phones and complete the registration and switch on the GPS facility of smart phone.

The person should always keep his/her mobile phone in ON mode with GPS enabled till he/she is released from home quarantine period, a government release said.

Those who are not in possession of smart phone, they may seek the support of any person possessing smart phone for self declaration in case of having symptoms through community reporting.

The release said everyone should update the health status daily in the App by using the home quarantine tab, answer phone calls from control room/surveillance team, cooperate with the surveillance team during home visits and strictly follow the guidelines on home quarantine vide DHFW/COVID-19/2019-20/689/97 dated March 21, 2020.

Principal director, health and family welfare department, Dr Vizolie Z. Soukhrie said any act of non-compliance will be deemed to have committed an offence punishable as per the provisions of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897.

On Wednesday, Soukhrie clarified that the samples taken for testing of Covid-19 virus are transported in a special medium called viral transport medium wherein the virus is not expected to die for at least 48 hours.

“So far, the cases of testing have been reported within 20 hours so the misconception of negative cases should not be there.

Appeal: The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur on Thursday appealed to the public of Dimapur town not to panic and cause havoc or spread rumours but strictly adhere to the guidelines and directives issued by the district administration and the government advisories issued from time to time.

Organisation president L. Wati Jamir and secretary K Mar Lemtur urged the people to educate and advise each other to overcome the pandemic crisis. It also urged everyone to follow social distancing and other protocols during the lockdown.
