Budget carrier IndiGo on Saturday started a direct flight between New Delhi and Dimapur.

An IndiGo 6E 2433 flight with 149 passengers on board arrived at the Dimapur airport from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi on Saturday.

The aircraft was welcomed with traditional water cannon salutes by spraying arcs of water over the flight.

Dimapur Airport Director Mughavi Zhimo said that the new flight has received a very good response from the passengers.

“The arrival flight had 149 passengers while 139 were on board the departing flight” he added.

According to IndiGo’s website, the first flight will leave Dimapur Airport at 2:35 pm and arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), New Delhi at 5:35 PM, signifying a travel time of exactly three hours.
