The four arrested with contraband heroin.

Kohima police recovered 532 grams of suspected heroin worth around Rs 2 crore in the international market from a vehicle at a place along National Highway 29 under Sechü (Zubza) police station at around 5.30 am on Monday.

Four persons, including a female, – Chochong Thomsong (24), Lunlalsem Haokip (27), Lunminlal Doungel (18) and Alein Thomsong (26) – have been arrested in this connection.

The contraband was neatly packed in 42 soap cases and found concealed in a specially modified compartment of the vehicle.

Kohima police, in a release, said based on specific intelligence input about the movement of illegal drugs along NH 29, its Highway Patrol Unit, under the supervision of SDPO (North), intercepted a Maruti Baleno (AS01DF/6555) and recovered the drug.

The contraband, along with the vehicle, has been seized, police added. A case has been registered at Sechü (Zubza) police station.
