The Nagaland government on Sunday once again appealed to any attendees of the religious congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in New Delhi who is in the state to immediately contact the state level control room on Covid-19 for getting examined and screened for coronavirus by the respective district and medical authorities.
The attendees were asked to contact the numbers – 0370-2291120, 2291122 – with full details.
Principal secretary, home, Abhijit Sinha, in a release, said though efforts through various modes are being made to find out all those from Nagaland who attended the religious congregation at Nizamuddin, yet they have not reported or contacted the government.
He said as of 5 pm on Sunday, 47 samples of suspected Covid-19 cases were sent for testing and the reports for 45 samples have been received, which are all negative.
The results of two samples are awaited, he said.
Sinha said the health and family welfare department has till now designated four hospitals – Chedema Ayush Hospital, District Hospital Dimapur, TB Hospital Mokokchung and District Hospital Tuensang – as Covid-19 hospitals with a total bed capacity of 210.
Preparations are underway for designating another five hospitals as Covid-19 hospitals, which will increase the bed capacity by another 260, he added.
He said the number of quarantine facilities in the state right now is 43 with 1264 beds.
On the alleged assault of a doctor by the Nagald police personnel here on Friday night, the “unfortunate incident” is being looked into with utmost seriousness.
He said an enquiry is on to find those guilty and added that corrective measures have been taken so as to ensure that such unfortunate things do not happen again.
“Our entire medical fraternity, along with the police and all the frontline workers are unitedly battling the threat of Covid-19,” Sinha said.
He appealed to everyone to continue the fight with the same dedication and spirit of unity and cooperation that everyone has been showing right from the time the coronavirus threat emerged.
He said the availability of essential goods and commodities continues to be comfortable across the state.
